Chiropractor in Irvine : Dr. Jeff Fisher

I started practicing 20 years ago with the dream of having an office like the one I have today…

I have had the same Mission Statement hanging in my office that I hand typed (on a Typewriter!) almost 20 years ago. It amazes me to read the direction I aimed my practice in when I was a young man.

This is what I wrote:

The Success of Jeff A. Fisher Chiropractic is based upon the following principals.

Irvine Chiropractor, Dr. Jeff Fisher

Dr. Jeff Fisher

Values: Honesty, Trust and Respect.

Purpose of this office: To provide honest, high quality, affordable chiropractic care.

  • a. When in doubt tell the truth to everyone.
  • b. Provide the best service possible by meeting all of the patient’s needs, they are the #1 priority.
  • c. No patient shall be denied care for financial reasons. Anything is negotiable!

Short term goals:

  • 1. Establish a trusted, community-supported family practice.
  • 2. Educate as many people as possible about chiropractic.
  • 3. Learn from our mistakes and do not repeat them.
  • 4. Build long lasting relationships with our patients and supporters.

Long term goals:

  • 1. Run a practice that runs itself! Referral based practice (patients referring patients).
  • 2. Patients still #1 priority!
  • 3. Be an office that has earned a great reputation and become a vital part of the community through trust, honesty and respect.

I am proud to say our Irvine chiropractic office practices by these same basic principles still today!

On a personal note…

fisher-chiropractic-family

My wife Lisa and I have raised two great boys Jacob 14 and Luke 11. Our family life is directed by sports! Both the boys play football and baseball. If I’m not coaching one of them at practice or at our game then I’m in the stands watching the other one play with Lisa! Our home life is just as crazy as everyone else we know. The last few years have been a blur. If we’re not getting the kids ready for school we’re driving them to or from school or helping with homework or going to a practice or game… constantly on the go!

We try and squeeze work, exercise, friends and vacations in all around the boy’s schedule. I don’t remember my parents having to hustle around as much as we do? These are the good years because the kids actually still want us around… not for much longer though!!! Lisa and I were just talking about how much free time we’ll have on our hands after the boys start driving and I stop coaching. That will just give us plenty of time to worry about where they are, who they’re with, and will they get home safely… never ends does it???

Carving out some “me” time at the gym

I still try to carve out some “me” time which allows me to hit the gym. I really try and practice what I preach to my patients, plus if I don’t work out I’m just plain miserable to be around. I am pretty “old school” when it comes to exercising, I love to pump iron! I’m no longer pushing 350 lbs or squatting anything close to that either, but I get my reps in (closer to my body weight these days, which is rising)!!!

Now that I’m 45 I’ve conveniently bought into two things… 1. “It’s better to do more reps than heavy weight” (all weaklings say this) and 2. “40 is the new 30″ (best joke ever… right?). I’m fortunate that my gym has weights and the best form of “Anger management training”… kickboxing! Since my time is short there is no better place to get a fast and huge cardiovascular workout in 45 minutes which leaves me enough time and energy to hit the weights. For me it’s the best way to battle age and I can go straight to the office to get fixed up when I lose!
